eBilling Quick Tips for Group Leaders

eBilling: View and Pay Invoices Online

Groups must have an AccessBlue account to use eBilling and receive notifications. The person responsible for paying the invoice must be listed as an authorized contact with Blue Cross.

When will groups with less than 100 enrolled be required to use eBilling?
As a reminder, groups with 100+ enrolled are required to view and pay their invoice online as of Dec. 2017. Groups with less than 100 enrolled will be required to use eBilling in a phased approach outlined below:

Phase 1: 50-99 enrolled
  • April 2018 – last invoice mailed to group
  • May 2018 – no paper invoice mailed
Phase 2: 10-49 enrolled
  • May 2018 – last invoice mailed to group
  • June 2018 – no paper invoice mailed
Phase 3: 2-9 enrolled
  • July 2018 – last invoice mailed to group
  • August 2018 – no paper invoice mailed
Groups are encouraged to take advantage of the secure online payment option through eBilling now. If your group is unable to utilize electronic billing, please complete and submit this Electronic Billing Exception Request Form.

In order for Blue Cross to process your group’s manual payment, they must attach the payment coupon from their mailed invoice.

How are my groups notified when their invoice is ready on eBilling?
The group leader listed on the AccessBlue account will be notified via email when their invoice is ready. They will also receive an email prior to the invoice generating as a reminder to submit pending transactions.  These emails will come from the email address: donotreply@benefitfocus.com.

What payment methods are available on eBilling?
Groups can pay via ACH on eBilling. Auto draft capabilities are coming soon.
